Giddy-Up!
Do I have something on my face???
Ice cream cones...
Or the whole bucket of ice cream!

Zoo/Circus

Kyson only wanted to see the zebras but this
is also his new "cheese-it" face.

Family Portrait

There's no pictures from the circus Friday night although I made a huge effort to bring the camera, and extra batteries even, but when I pulled it out of my purse to snap some there were actually no batteries in it at all! Oh well, I did manage to take some with the cell phones after about a thousand tries. We headed out to the circus Friday night and stopped for dinner- which wasn't the best experience I've ever had. Restaurants are not the best places for rowdy little boys anyhow, but for some reason Kyson and Kolby were particularly crazy this night. I don't remember how many drinks were spilled or how many times we pulled them off the table but it was quite a few! The circus was fun, I think I was more excited about it than the kids or Colt but it really was fun. Kolby was not really entertained by the whole thing and mostly just wanted to get in and out of his folding chair the entire time but at least he was having a good time doing that. Kyson loved it but we were all tired and left before it was actually over and went back to the Little America to spend the night. After about an hour of both children singing themselves to sleep (which I love) we actually had a peaceful night's sleep. It's always a little scary wondering if your kids are going to sleep or freak out in a new place. We then headed to the zoo for Makell's birthday which I was also very excited about- I have been wanting to go all summer but my country-boy husband does not believe there is any reason in the whole entire world good enough to go to Salt Lake :) I just like to see how happy the little kids get to see the animals. Happy Birthday Makelly! Thanks for the fun day!

Ok, I never get this right, but anyway, these pictures go with the last post.

Camping

We went, with my family, for a little one-night camping trip up to the Uinta's and had a very fabulous time. We left Friday evening with my parents and sister and my other brother and sister met us there later that night. Kyson and Kolby thought the camper was thee greatest thing ever- we borrowed it from Grandpa Stevie and Kyson spent every second in it until we had to leave. We just hung out and threw tons of rocks in the river then roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner. Kyson's marshmallows started on fire which he thought was pretty dang cool. It was way cold during the night and in the morning but thank heavens everyone slept just fine (except me, I had a little freaking out moment of claustrophobia in the top bunk :) and we had a toasty fire going in the morning! Colt had to come back to work the next day but the rest of us drove up to Lily Lake and fished and had lunch- I'm sad summer is ending because I want to do it again!

Sleeping Arrangements

Ok, this is kind of random, but my husband is very particular about his sleeping habits so I had to show this picture of our beds. It might not look too bad in this picture but Colt went nuts when it was time to go to sleep getting us this nice, homemade queen-size bed. The cabin actually had four twin beds and Colt rearranged the entire room so the beds could be next to eachother and we wouldn't have to worry about the kids falling off. So... he moved a nightstand from between them and put it at one end, pulled the dresser up next to the other end (from across the room), tucked all the rugs under the wheels, and put pillows between the foot board and the matress so everything would stay in it's proper place. He was like a mad-man getting it all fixed how he wanted it but I guess I should be thankful because we all slept just fine!
Soooo tired.

More Jackson

I kind of went camera-crazy while we were there so I apologize for so many pictures, but here's a few more.Kolby tried forever to get this piece of grass in his hand- I love this picture! This is the cookout spot they have for Sunday dinners.
Kyson somehow manages this exact same smile in every single picture we have of him. He loved the cabin, he called it our "Brown House."
My cute little boys and our cute little cabin.

Jackson

My sister Hilary is working at a guest ranch in Moose, WY for a couple weeks and invited us up for the weekend so Colt could install a few windshields in their vans. They were so nice to us, we stayed in a cute little cabin, ate good food, hung out with aunt Hilary and just wandered around the ranch. My little boys could probably have stayed there forever- horses, squirrels, rocks, dirt, fences to climb on, dogs and everything else kids love. Thanks Hil!

The horses were the hit of the trip, we spent probably three hours watching the horses do their thing.
The whole darn fam- photogenic as ever!
My cute hubby. He does not like pictures even one tiny bit.
Kolby, getting a push from Aunt Hilary.
A wagon they had on the ranch which Kolby actually fell off about two seconds after this picture- oops, that was my fault.

Some Random Pics

Kyson has started wanting to have little "photo sessions" every day. He puts all his stuffed animals or his blanket in position and tells me, "Mommy, they neeed a picture." I swear Kolby has got to be the messiest eater in the world. I know he's only one but I think he does it on purpose- he can eat goldfish or a piece of bread and still get it all over the place and all over himself!
Another example of his eating habits! Dad and kids at the GHETTO circus in Evanston! Not one single animal in the whole circus! We left we were so bored. I was so excited because I thought we could see circus animals up close and the kids would love it but don't ever go to a circus in Evanston!
Kyson & Kolby could play on the swing set all day long- I just get tired of under-doggies and ten thousand requests for pushes before they're done!

Weekend at Star Valley

Poor Kolby-
I don't know why the littlest
one is on the bottom?

We spent last weekend at Colt's parents cabin in Star Valley with our friends and their two kids. It was so much fun for the kids and so relaxing for the parents! We left Friday night and our kids were exhausted and fell asleep before we even left town and slept the whole way there, so I was a little concerned how bedtime was going to go and sure enough it went just like I thought it might. None of the kids were in bed before midnight and they woke up at seven- what ever happened to sleeping in when you're on vacation? Thankfully they weren't too cranky even though it was a short night. We played in the stream, roasted hot dogs (which weren't as good as somehow I remember them being) shopped a little and just had fun hanging out with our friends and our kids. It's such a great place, I wish we took the time to go more just to get away for a while.

Whitney Res.

Thank heaven for little boys!

First Fish!

We decided to take advantage of a no-work day for Colt and take the kids to Whitney to fish. It started out a little rough as both kids were not happy campers when we first got there- short naps will do that to ya! But, we walked along the shore and Colt caught one within a few minutes. We tried to get Kyson to hold it but he wasn't really liking the idea and then all of the sudden the fish slipped out of Colt's hands and slapped Kyson right on the head! He ended up with fish blood in his hair and slimy stuff on his face but he thought it was pretty funny. Anyway, the first fish has to have a story to tell right? It was so fun to play in the water and let the kids get dirty and play all day!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Grandpa Mark and the cute little boys.
Kolby- wishing Daddy would take him in that water!
A little dip in the river... sorry about the bad angle!
Our poor little boys got cooked! Sunscreen is a must in the Jeep from now on!

Saturday was my Dad's birthday and we spent the day having a picnic by the river and just hanging out with the fam. It was a super fun day, hope you thought so too Dad! Love ya lots!

Happy 4th!

The fourth of July here in Evanston is a HUGE celebration, by that I mean it is a great excuse to light off fireworks all hours of the day and night! The noise and the garbage all over the place from fireworks really annoyed me the first year we lived here, but this year we set off fireworks and kind of joined the crowd and it actually was really fun! The night of the third Kyson and I watched fireworks on the porch for two hours. On the fourth, Hilary and our friend Jeremy came up to our house and we played and went four-wheeling then watched fireworks at Steve and Diana's until we couldn't stay awake any longer! Kyson and Kolby loved the fireworks from a distance, but Kyson did not want his Daddy lighting them anywhere close to him! I think it was two in the morning before I finally heard the last pop, but I'm already looking forward to next year- am I a true Evanston resident or what?

Even though it's a mess to clean up, I love seeing the cute funny things these two do every day. My life must have been so boring before I was a mom!

Family Reunion Time!

Kyson, Kolby and I ventured up to Logan this past weekend for a family reunion with my mom's side of the family- Colt had to work :( It was so much fun, very hot, but very fun! The little red car thing in the top picture was definately the hit of the weekend though, I would have to say. Kyson didn't want to share it very badly, as you can tell by the close eye he is keeping on my cute nephew Caleb while he's taking a turn. The reunion was at my mom's aunt and uncle's house and they are really the nicest most generous people I know! They had so many fun things set up for the kids. Kyson and Kolby made these little cardboard cars for a "drive-in" movie one night, they had a candy store and fake money the kids could use, we flew kites (which Kyson loved), painted crafts, jumped in the bouncy castle, played on their playground and the list goes on and on! It was just fun to be outside and let the kids just be kids and play all day long. We also went ice skating with the whole family and Kolby slept most the time except for this picture of Annie trying to get him to skate with her for just one minute! Kyson actually really liked it and walked around in his skates like he had done it a million times. He was pretty good at it but for the most part my sisters and I just dragged him around while he put every bit of his little twenty five pound body weight on us! A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the reunion and thanks to my mom and sisters and sister-in-law for help with my little monsters!
